AS a gesture of hailing the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the final match and awarding of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Trophy Inter-State/Region Under-18 Women’s Football Tournament took place at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon, attended by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. In the final match, Shan State and Mandalay Region poured out utmost efforts in putting pressure on each other to be able to secure the victory as both teams were powerhouses in the tournament. In the 5th minute, the Mandalay Region team scored an opening goal. After that, the match raised its tempo with reciprocal attacks. At the final whistle, the Mandalay Region team beat the Shan State team with a 2-1 win. At the awarding ceremony, SAC members Lt-Gen Soe Htut, U Sai Lon Seng, U Moung Har, Jeng Phang Naw Taung and Daw Aye Nu Sein presented honorary medals and cash awards to the best players in their respective positions.
