FOR use in Rakhine state disaster relief operations, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, the Ministry of Electric Power, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement are loading aid and relief materials, including concrete lamp posts, towers, iron rods, electrical wires, timbers, tents, tarpaulin sheets, corrugated sheets, nails, communication fibre cables, rice bags, and dried noodles, on the MV Aquarius, MV Sun Shine, and MV Fortune starting 16 May, under the supervision of the Myanma Port Authority, as planned by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

In accordance with the Paris Principle relating to the Status of National Institutions, the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Law was enacted as the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Law No 21/2014 with the objectives to safeguard the fundamental rights of citizens enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, to create a society where human rights are respected and protected and to effectively promote and protect human rights.
