​​​​​​​THE 1st Myanmar-Russia Maritime Security Exercise (MARUMEX) was launched at Thilawa Port of Yangon on the afternoon of 5 November. Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Nikolai A Evmenov of the Russian Federation took salute of the naval parade companies of both countries. They all saluted the flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federation. The two commander-in-chiefs (navy) delivered opening speeches and declared the launching of the exercise. The Myanmar-Russia Maritime Security Exercise comprises prevention of air, water surface and underwater dangers and maritime security measures with participation of aircraft and naval vessels from both sides.
