THE KIA and PDF terrorists launched the attack in Kawlin Township of Sagaing Region on 3 November 2023 with the use of excessive power. They opened fire on the security unit and police station. Also, they killed the locals, asked for money, launched arson attacks on departmental buildings, planted mines to undermine the government administrative mechanism and also destroyed and broke into the houses.

THE State Administration Council issued an announcement that set the date for the People’s Military Service Law to come into force, which is 10 February 2024. The People’s Military Service Law was enacted as Law No 27/2010 of the State Peace and Development Council on 4 November 2010, and the law came into force under Sub-Section (b) of Section 1 of the aforesaid law.
