MYANMAR’S natural gas is being extracted from offshore projects, and geologists have confirmed, based on data obtained from 3D seismic surveys of sandstone reservoirs beneath the seabed and the results of exploratory drilling wells, that significant natural gas reserves exist not only in the shallow-water offshore areas where production is currently taking place, but also in deep-water offshore regions.
