PROVISION ceremony for granting survivors’ benefits and compensation for permanent disability and death from work-related injuries under the Social Security Act 2012 was held at Yangon Region Skills Training School (Yankin) yesterday.
Deputy Minister for Labour U Win Shein, Yangon Region Government officials, and officials from the Ministry of Labour (Yangon Region) attended the ceremony.
There are 1,087,113 registered workers from 33,776 registered labour departments in 116 townships in the region and state.
There are 78 township social security offices, 13,407 labour offices and 758,324 insurance workers across the country and providing compensation for death and work-related injuries.
Accidental injuries on the road and work-related survivors’ benefits and permanent disability benefits were paid in full under the Social Security Act 2012.
It is reported that the deputy minister handed over K43,328,520 in benefits to four injured workers and families of three workers killed in accidents.
