The Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw convened for its 12th-day sitting of the Second Regular Session at the Hluttaw Complex in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw session emphasized the speech on the 100-day progress of the government delivered by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing due to the message sent by the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe’s clarification on undertakings at the Second Regular Session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, and his greetings.

The Hluttaw session was also attended by Vice-Presidents U Nyo Saw and Nan Ni Ni Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, Chief Justice of the Union U Tha Htay, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union U Aung Zaw Thein, Chairman of the Union Election Commission U Than Soe, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin, State dignitaries, deputy ministers, speakers of region and state Hluttaws and guests together with chief ministers of regions and states through videoconferencing.

The President delivered an address on the government’s 100-day progress.

The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker sought the Hluttaw’s approval to place the speech on record, and it was duly accepted.

In his address, the Speaker said the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw had received seven bills submitted by Union-level ministries, departments and organizations, and had enacted the Union Budget Drafting Law, 2026, and the Region or State Budget Drafting Law, 2026.

The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw submitted the Anti-Online Scam Bill to the President for signature. Two bills each are currently under consideration in the Pyithu Hluttaw and the Amyotha Hluttaw, and they will continue to be deliberated during the Third Regular Session. The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw also established the Myanmar Parliamentary Union (MPU).

The Hluttaw approved the validity of issuing the ordinances, submitting 43 points to be amended and added to the Constitution (2008), approval for avoiding the double income tax between Myanmar and Belarus, tax exemption for diesel HSD (500 ppm) and Liquefied Natural Gas, signing the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization as participation of Myanmar, discussions over the proposal urging the government to review te ASEAN Five-Point Statement, and formation of the JCAIPA and JCIPU.

The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw has formed the Joint Budget Vetting Committee to approve the Union Supplementary Appropriation Law for the 2026-27 financial year at the Third Regular Session of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw to be held in October 2026.

During the Hluttaw recess, representatives are required to visit their respective constituencies, listen to the views and concerns of the people, and make every effort to address their needs and aspirations. They must also provide the necessary assistance, to the best of their ability, to improve livelihoods and promote the socioeconomic development of their constituencies.

The Speaker announced the successful conclusion of the Second Regular Session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw.
