A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Finance and Revenue Daw Than Than Lin attended the 3rd Deputy Ministerial Consultation on the Establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Development Bank (SCOB) held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on 28 May.

The meeting was cochaired by Mr Min Liao, Deputy Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr Nurbek Akzholov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The consultation reviewed the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Development Bank and discussed its policy objectives, capital contributions, membership, voting rights, operational and administrative models, as well as plans.

Participants also discussed and endorsed the progress report on the establishment of the bank and the negotiation process, ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting held on 29 May.

On the morning of 29 May, the Myanmar delegation led by the deputy minister departed Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and arrived back in Yangon yesterday morning.
