According to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, licences were issued for 22 new hotels, 23 new guesthouses and 46 new tour companies in Kachin State during the past five years.

At present, a total of 66 hotels, 31 guesthouses with 2,950 rooms altogether, and 81 tour companies are operating in Kachin State.

In order to promote the development of the hotel sector and improve service quality, upgrading training courses is being conducted so that tourists can be provided with quality services.

Among the well-known tourist destinations in Kachin State are the snow mountain region and mountain-climbing tours in PutaO District, the Mulashidi Suspension Bridge, Malikha Waterfall, Nat Kyun, Gubar Rest House and Kaunghmulon Pagoda.
