TRAINEES from various camps of the Basic and Advanced Maritime Youth Training Course Batch 1/2026, who are currently in Yangon, visited the Airbase in Mingaladon Township yesterday morning together with instructors, administrators, and responsible officials.
Officials from Tatmadaw (Air) explained and demonstrated aerospace science and technology, general knowledge related to aviation and flight operations, and the aircraft and helicopters currently used by Tatmadaw (Air).
At noon, they visited the Nuclear Technology Information Centre in Hline Township.
They received detailed explanations of materials displayed in the exhibition hall, including a tomography model used in disease diagnosis through nuclear technology, a model showing the internal components and operational process of the RITM-200, a type of small modular reactor used for electricity generation, a radiometer device that measures radiation levels in the human body and compares them with radiation levels found in surrounding environmental materials, an interactive quiz game system covering basic nuclear technology knowledge, equipment used to measure radioactivity in natural materials such as sand, rocks, and cement, a 3D virtual model illustrating the internal components and step-by-step structure of a nuclear reactor and a miniature wind turbine model used for generating electricity through wind power.
At the video screening hall, they watched an MTV song presentation highlighting the activities of the Ministry of Science and Technology, videos explaining the importance of small modular reactors and the construction experience of Rosatom, the State Atomic Energy Corporation of the Russian Federation, and educational videos in the Myanmar language explaining the basics of nuclear and radiation. They also observed poster exhibitions demonstrating the practical applications of nuclear technology in sectors such as healthcare, energy production, education, industry, and environmental conservation with great interest.
