Prime Minister U Nyo Saw yesterday morning inspected the Ahara Thukha Market where a fire broke out in Kinpuntan Village of Kinpuntan Village-tract in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area at night on 25 February.

Accompanied by Executive Chief of the National Defence and Security Council U Aung Lin Dwe, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Phone Myat, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and officials, the Prime Minister viewed damage to the complex 8 of the market in the fire and clearing of debris. He comforted the owners of shops and coordinated reports of shop owners with officials to fulfil the needs.

The outbreak of fire started at the complex 8 of Ahara Thukha market at 8.46 pm on 25 February. As firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire at 9:31 pm.

No casualties occurred in the outbreak of fire. There are some 240 shops from a complex out of five complexes of the market. Remaining complexes and shops of the market which were not included in the outbreak of fire are open for the sale of goods as usual. Arrangements are being made to open the damaged shops to swiftly open for selling.
