Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye received Russian Deputy Defence Minister Mr Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They exchanged views on the enhancement of defence cooperation between the two ministries and further cooperation in military tactics, training and exercises between the two Tatmadaws.

After the meeting, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Aung Myo Thant and Mr Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov signed a military cooperation programme between the two defence ministries.

Also present at the meeting were the deputy minister and relevant officials. MNA/KTZH
