ELECTRICITY and Energy Development Commission Chairman and Union Minister for the Ministry 1 of the President’s Office U Tin Aung San inspected the new solar power plant construction projects and power generating plants in Zeyathiri Township of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and Thazi Township in Meiktila District yesterday.
On arrival at the Shwe Myoh 30-megawatt solar power plant project being implemented by Shwe Myoh Energy Engineering Co Ltd, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, relevant governmental officials and company officials reported on project plans, completion and power generating status. The Union minister instructed the need to complete the project in time, and provided the staff with fruits and foodstuffs.
The Union minister and party visited the project site and inspected the installation of solar panels and solar trackers, a land area for the control room, weather station, battery energy storage system (BESS), and made proper instructions regarding the job opportunities for locals within the project period, systematic use of materials and the need to follow the safety regulations and SOPs.
He then proceeded to the 30-megawatt solar power plant of Great Success Energy Co Ltd in Thazi. Officials clarified the construction of Thazi’s 40-megawatt and Thabyaywa 40-megawatt solar power plants, electricity supply to the national grid, 90-megawatt power generation of Thazi and Thabyaywa plants and construction of the Thabyaywa 210-megawatt solar power plant.
The Union minister coordinated the discussions, providing directives to have an energy storage system and keep implementing the new projects to meet the country’s electricity needs.
He then inspected the power generating processes of the power plant connecting the national grid, the Thazi 40-megawatt project of Leader Power Energy Co Ltd and presented fruits and foodstuffs to the staff.
The Union minister and party visited the Thabyaywa 40-megawatt project of Hanzar Solar Energy Co Ltd, and inspected the completed work, power generating processes of the Thabyaywa 30-megawatt and the Thabyaywa-3 30-megawatt solar power plants. He also provided the staff with fruits and foodstuffs.
Three solar power plants in Thazi and Thabyaywa generate 90 megawatts of power, and the new Thazi 40-megawatt and Thabyaywa 40-megawatt solar plants construction projects will be completed soon, and 80 megawatts of power will be distributed soon. Efforts are also being made to complete the Shwe Myoh 30-megawatt projects.
