Aimed at strengthening the diplomatic relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Belarus, a ceremony to plant a commemorative tree was held at the Nay Pyi Taw National Herbal Park of the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health beside the Pyinmana-Taungnyo road in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday afternoon.

Visiting Belarusian President Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing planted a Gangaw (Mesua ferrea) tree together.

The ceremony was attended by SSPC Member and Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers U Tun Ohn, U Mya Tun Oo, U Than Swe, U Khin Maung Yi and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, deputy ministers, members of the goodwill delegation of Belarus and officials.

The two Heads of State planted a Gangaw tree. The Belarusian President sprayed the bronze plaque.

The two Heads of State had documentary photos taken in front of the Gangaw tree and viewed around the commemorative trees planted by Heads of State from ASEAN and BIMSTEC Member States in the National Herbal Park.
