The fourth day of the central level of the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2025 was held at designated sites in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
In the morning, an ethnic traditional and folk dancing contest took place at the Hsinphyushin Hall, and the dance troupes from Mon State, Yangon Region, Kachin State, Bago Region, Kayin State, Taninthayi Region, Rakhine State, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, Chin State, Magway Region Shan State and Ayeyawady Region participated in it.
In the afternoon, the ‘Amyogon Zartigon Hmyint Tin Yay’ singing contest was organized and contestants from Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Kayah State, Sagaing Region, Shan State, Taninthayi Region, Bago Region, Rakhine State, Chin State, Yangon Region, Mon State, Kayin State and Ayeyawady Region participated in higher education level male contest with “Our Myanmar” song and contestants from Sagaing Region, Mon State, Shan State, Yangon Region, Sagaing Region, Rakhine State, Bago Region, Kayah State, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Taninthayi Region, Kachin State, Ayeyawady Region and Chin State competed with “Eternal Peace” song in higher education level female contest.
At the Mini Theatre of the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), the harp competition took place with basic education level (aged 10 to 15) female contestants, with the participation of contestants from Magway Region, Rakhine State, Taninthayi Region, Shan State, Bago Region, Sagaing Region, Yangon Region, Kachin State, Ayeyawady Region, Mandalay Region and Kayin State with ‘Hsaung Taw Theinga (Kyo)’ song. At the basic education level (aged 15 to 20) male contest, the contestants from Yangon Region, Bago Region, Rakhine State, Taninthayi Region, Mandalay Region and Kayah State competed with ‘Pyaung Pyaung Pyaung Nar Gain (Kyo)’ song, and the contestants from Bago Region, Yangon Region, Rakhine State, Mandalay Region, and Kayah State competed with ‘Bhone Moe Thoon Laung (Thachin Khan)’ song in the higher education level female contest.
The xylophone contest took place at Wunzin Minyaza Hall of the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw), comprising the basic education level (aged 15-20) male and female contests and the higher education level female contest.
The piano contest also took place at the Yinkyay Hmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, with the basic education level (aged 10-15) male and female contests and the higher education level male contest.
The Pobbathiri Hall hosted an orchestra troupe contest, including basic education level (aged 10-15 and 15-20) male and female contests.
Union-level dignitaries, union ministers, deputy ministers, Senior Tatmadaw officers, departmental personnel, staff, and families of Tatmadaw and students attended yesterday’s competitions to observe and support the contestants.
A total of 1,548 contestants participated in higher education level, basic education level (aged 15 to 20) and basic education level (aged 10 to 15) of the 25th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions (central level), and there are 1,661 contestants this year, showing an increase in the number of contestants.
