T HE Myanmar-Belarus Music Concert took place at the city hall in Chanayethazan Township of Mandalay yesterday evening.

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and his wife, regional level authorities, departmental officials, ViceChair of Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association Mr Alexander Ostrovskiy and officials, the rector of Mandalay University of Foreign Languages, teachers, students, invited guests and audiences enjoyed entertainments.

Belarusian singers Ms Nadezhda Bryleva and Ms Anzhelika Zaitseva led by Belarusian musician-cum-vocalist Mr Vladimir Sukolinsky performed traditional songs, modern songs and the songs composed about Myanmar.

Artistes from the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) presented traditional Myanmar dances and songs.

The Belarusian band arrived at the Mandalay International Airport on the morning of 5 October. They were welcomed by Vice-Chair of Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association Mr Alexander Ostrovskiy and officials of Myanma Radio and Television-MRTV. While in Myanmar, the band will perform entertainments in Mandalay, PyinOoLwin, Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw. Myanmar, Russia and Belarusian songs and dances will be performed at the concerts in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon.

It is learned that this cultural and artistic performance programme was jointly organized by the Ministry of Information of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association to further strengthen the friendly relations between the peoples of Myanmar and Belarus, in addition to building cordial ties between the two governments.
