Members of the film industry are making donations for the 105th Myanmar Motion Pictures Day and the 48th Film Industry Elders’ Honouring Ceremony, which will take place on 13 October. On 30 September, actor Kyaw Htet Zaw contributed K2 million, according to Vice-Chair U Aye Kyu Lay of the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO).
The ceremony will be held at the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (Head Office) on Wingaba Road, Bo Cho Ward, Bahan Township, Yangon Region, as film industry members and volunteers continue to make donations.
“The annual Film Industry Elders’ Honouring Ceremony is held on Myanmar Motion Pictures Day as usual. This year, it will take place on 13 October, and several stars have already donated. On 30 September, Academy Award winner Soe Myat Thuzar contributed K 1 million. Academy Award winners Ye Aung, Myint Myat, along with Kyaw Htet Zaw, Zay Ye Htet and other film stars, have also made donations,” said U Aye Kyu Lay.
