Myanmar detained 36 Indians, 11 Chinese nationals, one Filipino, one Nepali, one Malaysian, one Sri Lankan and one Kenyan, totalling 52 individuals, involved in telecom fraud and other criminal activities in Kayin State yesterday.

Between 30 January and 21 July 2025, a total of 9,299 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 9,055 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the remaining 244 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.

The government is strictly cracking down on online scams and online gambling by cooperating with other countries, including neighbouring countries.
