The Ministry of Border Affairs organized its second monsoon tree-planting event, aiming to conserve the environment and ecosystem, hand over a green and fine weather, provide shade and be a supportive action for the State economy, yesterday.
State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae planted ironwood, and Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Phyo Thant, directors-general, and staff planted other types of trees, totalling 280.
The Union minister and party inspected the tree-planting processes and the growing of trees planted previously.
Similar tree planting activities were held at the universities, colleges, offices and schools under the ministry, and the ministry planted a total of 7,071 trees yesterday, and 8,621 trees at the first event, totalling 15,692 trees.
