TATMADAW members, Myanmar Police Force members, foreign rescue squads and volunteers are ramping up concerted efforts in rescue and rehabilitation operations in the Mandalay earthquake-affected areas.

Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) inspected the clearing of debris and maintenance at the religious sites in Sagaing.

He also checked the drinking water distribution processes through Tatmadaw water purification equipment, construction of modular houses in NanU Myo Thit, landfilling processes in Sagaing and the lower area of the Ayeyawady River crossing bridge (Sagaing) in Tagaung ward and food and accommodation of quake survivors at the 700th Anniversary Gymnasium in Parami ward.

Lt-Gen Myo Moe Aung from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) inspected the clearing of debris at Mandalay University, the moving of teaching equipment and aids, and provided the faculty members with foodstuffs.

Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) visited Mandalay Traditional Medicine Hospital and Jivita Dhana Sangha Hospital in Mandalay and inspected the removal of debris at the wards. He also proceeded to the Aungchantha Pagoda in Amarapura Township and observed the cleaning processes.

Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) inspected the maintenance works at Kyaukse University in Singaing Township in Kyaukse District, exam retaking processes for the students and construction of temporary school buildings at the University of Computer Studies (Mandalay), and damage and medical treatment at Eye Hospital in Tayokesu ward.

He also inspected the repair works at Shwekyaung Monastery in Yanaungmyin ward and offered donations to the monastery.
