As of 7 May, 3,791 people have died, 5,106 have been injured, and 88 remain missing in six regions and states of Myanmar that were severely affected by the powerful earthquake that struck on 28 March.
Search and rescue teams from the Myanmar Fire Brigade, along with local and international rescue organizations, have been conducting emergency operations in the affected areas without delay. So far, 653 people have been rescued alive from collapsed buildings, and the bodies of 795 deceased persons have been recovered.
Both local donors and philanthropic individuals have been providing financial aid and relief supplies to those affected by the disaster. Similarly, foreign countries, international organizations, and charitable donors have been offering monetary and material assistance.
Between 5 pm on 6 May and 5 pm on 7 May, various forms of international assistance arrived at Yangon International Airport. This included 0.5 tonnes of instant noodles, biscuits and clothing, donated by Kri Sakthi Nyanaethira Kanimadam Yogi Ramsuratkumar Shiramam and Persatuan Renganut Devi Shri Karumariamman Temple of Malaysia, through the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia.
Relief items are being swiftly distributed to the affected communities to ensure timely support.
