SECURITY forces shot dead three civilians who were taken as human shields in MraukU, Rakhine State, on 9 January.

Security forces said that they were acting under the law of war established to protect the peace and stability of the region, the rule of law, and the people's lives property.

Malicious news media are creating false news to scare the public, misrepresent the security forces and blame them on the security forces.
