* Ten patients infected with COVID-19 disease have been confirmed in Myanmar as of 29 March 2020. Among them, a 44 year old man re-entered Myanmar on 23 March 2020, from Thailand through the Myawady Border Gate, and stayed in Mingaladon Township. Laboratory tests confirmed that he was infected with the COVID-19 disease.

* In such a situation, people who returned in groups from Thailand and people living in the country are at high risk of infection and a possible epidemic is highly imminent.

* Hence, those who entered Myanmar through border gates would no longer be allowed to go to their homes directly and they would have to undergo a 14-day quarantine at the designated facilities arranged by the State without fail.

* As the Union Government is in the process of expanding quarantine facilities, those who will be returning to Myanmar through border gates are requested to wait for about two weeks and return to Myanmar only after 15-4-2020.
