The second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw continued for the third day at its convention hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

First, Union Minister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein replied to the questions raised by U Aung Chit Lwin from the Sagaing Region Constituency 2, saying that the students from Khamti, Leshi, Lahe and Nanyun townships of upper Sagaing Region who passed the 2026 matriculation examination will be allowed to attend Homalin Degree College for learning higher education.

She also answered the questions raised by U Sein Shwe Min from the Magway Region Constituency 4. She said that the Nay Pyi Taw Council and relevant regional government will supervise the tender invitation, assignment and contract process for the construction of school buildings at Hsingaung Basic Education High School, Ywatha BEPS, and Kontha BEHS Branch in Minbu Township in the 2026-27 financial year.

Hluttaw representatives discussed matters related to the Anti-Online Scam Bill on needs to amend the precise usage of text, formation of the anti-online scam committee with chairmen of the leading bodies of the self-administered zones and division, the ways of sending complaints about online scams, management of banking accounts for offenders, rewards for informants, wishes to add more texts in Chapter XI and XII, definition for International Gateway Services(IGW) and responsibilities of IGW licence holders, and necessary participation of Hluttaw representatives at the regional committees to combat online scams.

Moreover, Hluttaw representatives emphasized the amendment for texts in Chapter I and Chapter XIII, more texts to insert online gambling into the bill, and appropriate penalties for offenders.

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe announced that the Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee decided to hear the discussions of the Amyotha Hluttaw representatives.

U Aung Chit Lwin from the Sagaing Region Constituency 2 of the Amyotha Hluttaw tabled a motion, urging the Union government to fulfil the requirements of teachers from basic education schools. U Thein Hlaing from the Sagaing Region Constituency 7 of the Amyotha Hluttaw seconded the motion.

The Amyotha Hluttaw approved that the motion would be discussed. So, the Speaker announced that the Hluttaw representatives wishing to participate in discussions can list the Director-General of the Amyotha Hluttaw Office.

The Amyotha Hluttaw will continue on 11 June.
