The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture organized a ceremony to sign the registration of the Statute of the Parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South East Asia, Russian Orthodox Church, at the Summit Parkview Hotel in Yangon yesterday.

Deputy Minister U Aye Tun said the two countries signed the Letter of Agreement on granting permission to implement religious work in Nay Pyi Taw on 18 February 2025.

The ministry will provide the needed assistance to the Russian Orthodox Church regarding the construction of office and religious buildings, funding activities, bank accounts and seeking approvals for religious activities under the law.

The director-general of the Department of Religious Affairs and Abbot His Eminence Sergiy signed the registration of the Statue of the Parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South East Asia, Russian Orthodox Church, as per paragraph 5.1 of LOA.
