THE National Disaster Management Committee has allocated six modular offices and 156 modular houses to the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

So far, the ministry has installed four modular offices and 34 modular houses. Efforts are underway to complete installation of remaining modular offices and houses as quickly as possible.

Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo yesterday morning inspected construction sites of modular houses for earthquake-affected staff families allocated by the National Disaster Management Committee for Nay Pyi Taw Council Area in the plots of Myanma Railways and the Road Transport Administration Department.

He also inspected Modular House Camp 1 located near mechanical and electrical staff houses, north of Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station in Pobbathiri Township, where the managing director of Myanma Railways reported on location of the camp, lay-out plans, number of modular houses allocated by the National Disaster Management Committee, formation of the engineering teams to build modular houses, and progress of installation.

The Union Minister inspected sinking a tube-well and installation of modular houses. He instructed officials to fulfill the needs of staff families, arrange the entrance and exit of residents and vehicles and emphasize worksite safety.

At the Camp 2, south of the Nay Pyi Taw Railway Station, the Union Minister heard reports by the managing director of Myanma Railways on the layout plans for settlement of staff families from the Union Minister’s Office and other departments including those from MR, supply of electricity and water, and installation of modular houses.

After hearing the reports, the Union Minister urged officials to manage proper flow of water in drains, entrance and exit roads and fencing the camp.

On arrival at the modular house camp at the Road Transport Administration Department in Ywataw of Pobbathiri Township, the Union Minister looked into installation of modular houses, locations of tanks and latrines and left instructions to officials on supply of electricity and water for soonest settlement of staff families.
