A passenger plane by Myanmar National Airlines flying to Yangon from Mandalay caught fire on the runway and reported no casualties, said MNA.
In the statement released by MNA, the UB-812 Boeing XY-ALV carried 143 passengers, alarmed unusual signal was emitted when it was taking off on 6 May.
During take-off, fire broke out in the left tyres due to brake overheating. However, the fire was put out in time, and the plane stopped safely at the north of the runway, it said.
All passengers and the crew were safe, and MNA transported the passengers to Yangon by another flight, it said and added that MNA has now carried out a thorough investigation into the accident.
