The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) held its 2/2025 meeting, chaired by the National Disaster Management Committee’s Vice-Chairs. The meeting covered the aftermath of the 28 March earthquake, which led to 78 aftershocks. A total of 653 people were reportedly rescued, with 640 bodies recovered. Search and rescue operations continue under a Level 5 status.

Due to a powerful earthquake that occurred on 28 March, two major airports -Nay Pyi Taw International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, roads, and railway sections, suffered collapse and damage, and the transportation and communication services were affected to a certain extent.
