The Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) has been testing people who come to Nay Pyi Taw for COVID-19 at its laboratories in the capital.

The Ministry of Health and Sports is exercising Section 21-(b) of the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Law to issue this order.

1. The Union Election Commission has already issued Directive (1/2014) on 1 July 2014 on the conduct of political rallies and political campaigns, with respect to the rights of Hluttaw representative candidates of political parties and independent Hluttaw representative candidates, who have been officially approved as Hluttaw representative candidates by relevant election sub-commissions in accordance with relevant electoral laws and by-laws, after they have submitted their applications to compete in the respective constituencies of the respective Hluttaws, to ensure free and fair elections in accordance with the law.

Announcement for civil service personnel who will come to Union Territory, Nay Pyi Taw, and for those who will return to Nay Pyi Taw from other regions/states

1. The confirmed cases of COVID-19, assumed to be local transmission, were reported in Rakhine State in the second week of August 2020, and some secondary case-patients who were infected from the primary case-patients have reached other regions and states. Therefore, to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), those who come to Nay Pyi Taw from other areas, or those who returned to Nay Pyi Taw from other areas are being systematically investigated.

With a view to the further strengthening of measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has issued the following announcements regarding temporary entry restrictions for visitors from all countries. All those restrictions were extended until 31 August 2020 by the Ministry’s announcement dated 30 July 2020.

THE Ministry of Health and Sports has issued this order in exercise of the rights contained in Section 21, sub-section (b) of the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Law.

1. The Ministry of Health and Sports has recorded 181 confirmed cases of local transmissions of COVID-19 in Rakhine State, and has found the related cases have reached other regions and states.

1. The Ministry of Health and Sports has issued Order 97/2020 dated on 26-8-2020 to announce that the whole Rakhine State has been put into ‘Stay–at–Home’ programme for effective control measures against the increasing confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rakhine State.

1. According to the news released by the World Health Organization at 9:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time on 18 August 2020, there have been about 21.5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally, with over 0.76 million deaths, showing a gradual increase in the number of cases and fatalities.
