UNDER Article 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, Wunthanu Party and Democratic Party, which are desirous of organizing a political party and under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, Kachin State People’s Party (KSPP), which is desirous of continuing to exist as a political party yesterday applied to Union Election Commission for permissions to establish political parties under the law and rules.
To date, six parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and 11 parties have applied under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, totalling 17 parties.
Among these 17 parties, five parties will organize the entire union and 12 parties only within a region or state.
Union Election Commission continues to verify the right to establish and register these parties.
