HEROIN blocks worth over K280 million were confiscated in Tachilek Township in Shan State (East), according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a motorcycle driv­en by Sai Sot (aka) Sai Kyaw accompanied by Sai Sai (aka) Aik Kyaing (aka) Sia Phon near Wantone village, Tachil­ek Township in eastern Shan State. A total of 54 blocks of heroin weighing 18.9 kilo­grammes and estimated to be worth K283.5 million were found in the paper box on the motorcycle.

According to interroga­tion results, heroin blocks are transported from Tachil­ek Township to the Myan­mar-Laos border. Legal ac­tion is taken against two of them, and the police force is trying to expose those con­nected with the two.
