DEPUTY Minister U Win Pe of the Ministry of Construc­tion and officials inspected the Monghsat City Road (Air­port Circle Road), an asphalt road, and other roads which were to repave with asphalt concrete, on the morning of 19 July. The deputy minister also urged respective departments to manage the land compen­sation fees for the extension of 1,000 feet long section into the ranway of Monghsat Air­port as per related rules and regulations.

Afterwards, Director U Ye Lin (Civil) of the Depart­ment of Highways, Shan State (East) presented the road and bridge construction projects that were planned to imple­ment in the 2022-2023 financial year, after the arrival of the deputy minister and party, at the Loisamson Road Camp on Monghsat-Tachilek Road. The deputy minister directed the responsible personnel to plan and execute the following tasks by category: paving the 5.5-metre long concrete road, expanding the blind spots of the road, repairing the main road with laterite, constructing the gravel-filled drain, mend­ing the road shoulders with concrete, building the box cul­vert and planting guard post and direction boards.

Later, the deputy minis­ter inspected the Thai-My­anmar Friendship Bridge-I and the Meiktila-Taung­gyi-Kengtung-Tachilek Road (Tachilek City Road), which is being carried out under the BOT system, in Tachilek Town­ship.
