A 2022 monsoon tree-planting event was held at the compound of Office No 1, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning. The occasion was graced by the presence of Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo and Deputy Minister U Than Aung Kyaw and also joined by the permanent secretary, the director-general, the deputy permanent secretary, the deputy directors-general and 75 officers and staff members.
The event was held with the aims of making the workplace green, clean and smart, encouraging the public and service personnel for growing plants and trees and to conserve the environment so as to support creating a favourable and sustainable environment.
During the occasion, the Union minister and the deputy minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations planted a sal sapling and a Footstool palm sapling, respectively. The permanent secretary, the director-general of the Foreign Economic Relations Department, the deputy permanent secretary, officials and staff actively took part in the tree-planting ceremony.
The Union minister and the deputy minister then inspected and inspired the growing of saplings by officials and staff members.
At yesterday’s ceremony, about 108 saplings of flowering plants, shade trees and windshield trees such as sal, Footstool palm, Mesua ferrea, Star-flower, Cherry, etc. were planted at the designated places in the park of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations.
