SPECIAL Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mr Prak Sokhonn and seven Ethnic Armed Organizations-EAOs, which have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA met yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was attended by the delegation led by the Special Representative and officials from the Arakan Liberation Party-ALP, the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA, the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (Peace Council)-KNU/ KNLA (PC), the Lahu Democratic Union, the New Mon State Party-NMSP, the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), and the Pa-O National Liberation Organization-PNLO.

The Special Envoy addressed the meeting and discussed issues related to the peace process and humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.

Afterwards, the NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations-EAOs gave introductory speeches and discussed the views of each group. Dr Naw Ka Paw Htoo, Vice-Chairman of the KNU/KNLA (PC), on behalf of the participating NCA signatories, expressed words of thanks and the Special Envoy made a concluding remark.
