MORE than K1 billion worth of 21.78 kilos of heroin were seized in Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, Myanmar Police Force stated.

A combined team consisting of members of MPF from Sagaing Region searched a Suzuki vehicle driven by Zaw Myo Win (a) Phoe Pyar accompanied by Naung Naung (a) Myint Naung near the jetty on Strand road, Yongyi Ward in Monywa of Sagaing Region at 3:30 pm on 14 June and seized 21.78 kilos of heroin worth over K1 billion. According to the investigation, the suspects admitted the seized drugs were carried from Monywa to Homalin of Sagaing Region.

The suspects were prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and Police are conducting the further investigations to arrest the drug traffickers, the MPF stated.
