THE Ministry of Health aims to extend the life expectancy of all ethnic people by providing them with a longer life expectancy and is expanding healthcare to rural areas.

This includes preventing and controlling infectious diseases such as COVID-19, conducting immunization activities, maternal and child health, school health, nutrition promotion, prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases (for instance, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc., public health such as health education, treatment and referral services are provided. Following the code of conduct of health workers, health workers are carrying out the above-mentioned healthcare functions in the respective sub rural health centres, rural health centres, station hospitals, township hospitals, state/region-level hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw and other regions/states for the health of the ethnic people.

As a result of the brutal and inhumane assassinations of health workers, who are responsible civil servants who provide healthcare to the ethnic people, doctors, nurses, health assistant, lady health visitor, health supervisors, midwives and support staff were killed and severely injured.

The Ministry of Health strongly condemns the terrorists and terrorist groups that have committed such atrocities, which have resulted in the deaths and serious injuries of the civil servants and healthcare workers.
