UNION Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received the delegation led by Mrs Izaskun Gavira, the Global Fund’s Senior Fund Portfolio Manager in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed treatment for HIV/AIDS, MDR – TB (Multidrug-Resistant), and malaria arrangements of ministry to ensure medicines, medical and lab equipment, and assistance to conduct training courses for disease control and further cooperation work between Global Fund and the ministry.
Then, Deputy Minister for Health Prof Dr Aye Tun presided over a meeting on HIV/ AIDS project, TB project, Malaria project, the Global Fund and its associate organizations following COVID-19 health rules.
During the event, they focused on the effective use of further assistance from the Global Fund in Myanmar in 2022, proper treatment for diseases, capacity-building training to accelerate disease prevention measures in regions/states and support from the Global Fund in the coming year.
The two-day meeting was held on 2 and 3 June in Nay Pyi Taw.
