K170 million worth of ecstasy tablets and Ketamine were captured in Yangon Region and Kayin State, according to the Police Force.

A combined inspection team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a room of a hotel in Bahan Township of Yangon Region, according to information. Police seized Naing Lwin and Hein Thu Soe (a) Shake with 50 ecstasy tablets and 3 grammes of Ketamine on 25 May at 2:30 pm.

According to the examination, at 7:00 pm on the same day, police captured trafficker Htet Aung Wai (aka) Jason with a Chevrolet car, 4,000 ecstasy tablets, 170 grammes of Ketamine and 70 bags – seven grammes each – of mixed Ecstasy powder (Happy Water). According to the investigation, the Anti-Drug Police Force seized a restaurant owner Kaung Sit (aka) Ko Sit with 0.2 gramme of Ketamine, one Ec stasy tablet and 15 grammes of mixed Ecstasy powder (Happy Water) in Myawady Township of Kayin State.

According to the examination, they admitted the drugs to be sold to youths who come to KTV and Entertainment Bar/Club. Police are investigating and the suspects were prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the Myanmar Police Force stated.
