UNION Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi met the representatives of Mro, Thet, Khami, Dainet, Maramagyi ethnic people and the Rakhine Literature and Culture Association in Sittway Township together with Rakhine State Ethnic Affairs Minister U Tin Hla on 27 May.

During the meeting, the Union minister said the State Leader emphasizes the affairs of all ethnic people living in the country. The current time is important for ethnic unity. Although the national ID cards issued under the Pankhinn project completely exceeded the target in Rakhine State, there might be some people who do not receive the cards. The representatives should report on the remaining lists and other matters.

Then, the representatives of literature and cultural associations briefed the issuance of national ID cards, lists of remaining persons, education, health, transport, and access to drinking water and electricity.

The Union minister and the party also met state, district and township administrative staff at the U Ottama Hall of Sittway Township. He highlighted the implementation of the foreigner management system, the analysis of citizenship, preparations for the 2024 population and housing census and an e-ID system based on the e-Government system.
