MULTIPLE agriculture and livestock in the area of Yangon Command aim to supply meat, fish and vegetables to some eight million people of Yangon Region at reasonable prices, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in inspecting vegetables, mushrooms and eggs produced from No 1 agriculture and livestock farm of Yangon Command in Insein Township yesterday morning.

The Commander of Yangon Command reported on the progress of the agriculture and livestock farms, and sales of meat, fish, vegetables, eggs and milk to officers, other ranks and families in addition to war veterans, police members and families at fair prices.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said multiple agriculture and livestock in the area of Yangon Command aim to supply meat, fish and vegetables to some eight million people of Yangon Region at reasonable prices. Products must be sold at fairer prices to Tatmadaw members and service personnel and fair prices to the people. Emphasis must be placed on welfare for consumers but profits. It is necessary to produce healthy products on livestock farms through coordination with the veterinary research teams. Encouragement must be given to private agriculture and livestock farms. If it is local food sufficiency, continuous efforts must be made for exporting frozen meat and fish, dried meat and value-added products to foreign markets.

Later, the Senior General inspected the agriculture and livestock farm and attended to the needs of the farms in charge.
