UNDER the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade in accordance with the law.
On 21 May, a multi-departmental inspection was carried out at the 105th-mile trade zone in Muse.
Unspecified car spare parts and various accessories at estimated value of K6,587,497, a Wheel Loader worth approximately K1.5 million and a 12-wheel Mitsubishi Fuso truck worth approximately K35 million carrying the goods were seized and action is being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
Similarly, an inspection team led by the Anti-Illicit Trade Task Force conducted an investigation in Sagaing Region, and a team led by the Myanmar Police seized 7,000 visses of dregs oil worth approximately K2.1 million in Kanbalu Township and action is being taken under the petroleum and its related products law.
An inspection team led by the region’s General Administration Department is also taking action against illegal bags of wheat flour estimated at K6.3 million under the Import and Export Law.
Similarly, an investigation was carried out under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force in Bago Region on 22 May.
Combined inspection teams led by the Region Forest Department seized 38.1856 tonnes of illegal sawn timbers at estimated value of K14,397,318 in Toungoo and Thayawady Districts under the Forest Law.
Inspections led by the Myanmar Police Force seized two unlicensed TOYOTA Mjar and RACITS vehicles estimated at K4.5 million near the milepost No 7/0 of DaikU-Sittoung Road (Byuhar Road).
Thus, a total of 13 arrests worth approximately K70,384,815 were made on 21 and 22 May, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
