EFFORTS should be made to transform the banking industry into a digital banking system in line with the modern technology trend, said Dr Maung Maung Naing, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Mayor Patron of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Bank Board of Directors during the annual meeting of Nay Pyi Taw Development Bank for 2020- 2021 yesterday.
The main drive of a country is the economy and the banks are one of the main drives of the economy and so it should conduct banking operations following the directives of the Central Bank of Myanmar constantly, he said.
The Nay Pyi Taw Development Bank offers services for current accounts, saving deposit accounts, fixed deposit accounts, foreign currency exchange, safe deposit lockers, bank guarantees, payment orders, remittances and mobile banking payments.
Nay Pyi Taw Development Bank was established formerly at No (25/26), Yaza Thingaha Road, near Ingyin Pan Roundabout, Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on 28 February 2013 according to the licence number (Ma Bha Ba/ P-29/(2) 2013) of the Central Bank of Myanmar. Then, Bank’s Head Office was moved to No (A-09), Thiri Kyaw Zwa Street, Thiri Yadana Shopping Complex, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on 15 February 2014. On 17 February 2014, all activities of the Head Office and Branches of the Bank started operations. — Htun Htun/GNLM
