HEROIN was seized this week in Bhamo and Muse townships, according to the police force.

A joint team of anti-narcotics police stopped and searched a motorcycle driven by Ye Yint Ko Ko (alias) Ko Ye, and followed by Mazin Mar Oo (alias) Zin Mar on the Bhamo-Mansi Road, Bhamo Township at 5:50 pm on 20 May.

During the inspection, 0.099 kilogramme of heroin and K100,000 were seized from the vehicle.

According to the investigation. further 0.099 kilogramme of heroin and K100,000 were seized from Tun Khin (alias) Khar Li at Paukgon Ward, Bhamo Township and K100,000 and one motorcycle were also seized from Ma Sabei Win (alias) Sabei and Ma Thida Cho on the same day.

Similarly, a joint team of security forces stopped and searched a Toyota Wish vehicle driven by Moe Lin Oo (alias) Moe Lay and Lin Lin Aung (alias) Win Htike Aung (alias) Kywel Gyi and Yan Naing Soe (alias) Kalar onboard and seized 2.232 kilogrammes of heroin.

They were prosecuted under the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, according to the police force.
