IN commemoration of the Sasana Year 2566, the Maha Mingala Donation Ceremony of the alms and offerings to 10,264 monks in four corners of the Mandalay Moat was simultaneously held at 6 am with 2,566 monks on each of the four corners of the Mandalay Moat on 14 May, Kason Full Moon Day-Buddha Day.

The event was attended by State Ovadacariya Presiding Sayadaw of Maha Dhammi Karama Meiktila Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Bhanaddanta Sujanapira and Joint Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw of Maha Dhammi Karama Yadanabon Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Bhanaddanta Sihanada, township Sayadaws, monks, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko, Commander of Central Command, regional ministers, Tatmadaw families and invitees of four religious organizations and donors.

At 6 am, they took the Nine Precepts from Sayadaws and donated offerings to Sayadaws.

After that, the Donation Ceremony of the alms and offerings to Sayadaws was held. Region Chief Minister, Commander of Central Command, regional ministers and donors took positions at the southern part of the moa t to donate the offertories to 2,566 monks at the four corners of the moat at the same time while the groups led by region Security and Border Affairs Minister at the east, by Natural Resources Minister at the western part and by Economic Minister at the northern part.

State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, and Tatmadaw families donated offerings and cash worth K232,157,180 and Mandalay region government and donors K617,845,380.

M o r e o v e r, 1 0 8 - m o n k groups recited Paritta in 21 townships of the Mandalay Region and officials donated alms and offerings to the monks.
