DOCTORS and nurses from public hospitals, Tatmadaw medical teams, healthcare workers and volunteers are working hard to administer COVID-19 vaccines in different states and regions as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.

The COVID-19 vaccine is inoculated daily to target groups regardless of race or religion, including Buddhist monks and nuns, local people over the age of 40, students, religious leaders, prisoners, people with disabilities, ethnic armed organizations, people with chronic diseases, people in IDP camps and over 12-year-old students, respectively.

On 3 February and yesterday, doctors and nurses from public hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, relevant healthcare workers in collaboration with volunteers injected COVID-19 vaccines to 2,672 people from 11 townships in northern Shan State, 1,834 people from ten townships in Kayin and Mon States, 2,208 people from Myeik Township, Taninthayi Region, 237 from Tamway Township, Yangon Region and 17,320 people from 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region, respectively.

Similarly, healthcare personnel gave the vaccines to 750 students from Namkham and Muse townships in northern Shan State, and 935 students from 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region, at the same time.

It is reported that officials from the respective Military Commands visited the sites and coordinated the necessary work.
