THE second-day of the Youth and Literature Festival in commemo­ration of the Diamond Jubilee Union Day continued yesterday at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, and was alive with families and staff from min­istries, students, youths and the people.

The Science and Technol­ogy Booth, the Aviation Aware­ness Booth and the Maritime Awareness Booth were especial­ly crowded with students and young people as they have sim­ulators to test advanced fighter jets, helicopters and ships.

Moreover, students and young people also study aware­ness records to follow the traffic rules for safety, records of the anti-human trafficking police ac­tivities and anti-drug task force police activities, displayed in the crime scene education vehicle introduced by Nay Pyi Taw Po­lice Force with the theme “Let’s spread knowledge to get rid of drugs”.

For those who are inter­ested in aviation, there was a small airplane flight demon­stration ground where officials were demonstrating the steps involved in flying small planes, and it was seen that students and young people were paying close attention.

U Aung Kyaw Nyein, an offi­cial from the Myanmar Aviation Enthusiasts Association, said, “The purpose of the aviation gal­lery in the festival is to attract young people to aviation which is of great interest to young people all over the world and in Myanmar too, and to develop human resources with modern technologies for the future of the country. Another interest­ing aspect is the practical part and the people can test drive a virtual aircraft,” he added.

In addition, the galleries of knowledge and sports such as the gallery of biographies of great scholars, historical con­tracts, and documents, painting art gallery, COVID-19 pandemic awareness gallery and sports activities gallery were also full of young people and students.

In the afternoon, a demon­stration of Myanmar national team athlete under training for the 31st SEA Games was held at the Stadium (B) of Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium and the students came to visit with en­thusiasm.

The festival also organized competitions such as painting competition and home building competition, it was a pleasure to see that both teachers and students and the interested people were actively involved. In addition, entertainment and performances of the students and artists from the MRTV and the Department of Fine Arts also brought the festival to life.

Due to the current COV­ID-19 period, visitors to the festival were allowed to enter the festival only after being screened in accordance with the COVID-19 prevention measures set by the Ministry of Health. Also, emergency medical ser­vices were also included, and COVID-19 pandemic aware­ness signs and banners were displayed in the festival area.

The Youth and Literature Festival is being held from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm with good inten­tions to develop the intellect and ideas of young people, to develop good habits of partici­pating in group activities while celebrating the festival happily, to encourage young people to be creative and to study literature, to build a society of the future with their good ideas.
