THE Information and Public Relations Department under the Ministry of Information held its 31st anniversary in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

First, the Pyan/Sat Yaungchi Htawazin Taukpanay Myi song (the ray of IPRD will shine forever) was played honouring the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that the department reaches 31 years in existence firmly because of the efforts and unity of departmental officials and staff.

There are 427 IPRD offices across the nation and it is a big network. It is also running with modern and active entertaining  programmes upholding the three main objectives of the ministry.

Currently, all the departments under the ministry including MRTV are making efforts to become a creative and reliable media for the people.

All the departments should work hard to develop the procedures of the ministry and department concerned together with the new setup of IPRD in 2022 and the staff should try to spread the true information in unity.

The Union minister presented the best performance award to NyaungU District Office, second prize to Hpa-an District Office, third prize to Mawlamyine District Office and the special prizes to Maungtaw, Kyaukse, Magway, Meiktila and Minbu district offices.

Deputy Minister U Ye Tint gave awards to township-level offices and the best COVID-19-related news quality award winners.

Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung presented awards to the winners of broadcasting educating programmes on Public Library Facebook Page.

After that, the Directors-General and Managing Director presented the awards to the winners of COVID-19 educating programmes, photo contests, including the civil services award winners.

The documentary of IPRD work history was then presented and the ceremony was concluded after a staff officer on behalf of the winners expressed thanks for presenting the awards.
