A landmine exploded near the compound of Maha Muni Buddha Image in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region on the evening of 14 January.

Security forces investigated the incident, as two terrorists riding a motorcycle fired a homemade mine north of the Maha Muni Buddha Image at around 5 pm on 14 January.

The homemade mine exploded in a flower patch in front of the dormitory inside the precinct of the image and no human and animal were injured.

Terrorist groups CRPH, NUG and PDF abduct and kill monks, and monasteries are set on fire.

It is reported that the whole people are disgusted with the attempt to destroy the religion and cause panic among the people near the pagoda, which is worshiped by the whole people.
