OVER K800 million worth of drugs were seized in PyinOoLwin township, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip, a combined team comparing the officers and staff from the anti-narcotics police team stopped a 10-wheel Nissan vehicle en route to Sagaing region from Shan State (North) driven by Kyaw San Min with Zaw Min Oo and Aung Bala on board at Moe Gyo checkpoint camp, PyinOoLwin township on 11 January at 4 pm. Then, the team found 30.8 kilos of heroin and 22,800 stimulant tablets worth over K800 million from the vehicle.

According to the chain crimes, the police stopped a Surf car driven by Aung Naing with Phoe Zaw on board at 16th miles inspection gate, Mandalay on 12 January at 7:30 am and found the drugs in the vehicles.

Police have filed charges against them under the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Laws and are still investigating the perpetrators from chain crimes, it is learnt.
