A total of 145 Myanmar returnees transferred by Thailand were sent back home after being under quarantine in Tachilek, Shan State (East) and being tested negative for COVID-19.

The returnees included Myanmar migrant workers and those who were released from prisons. Thailand transferred them to the Myanmar authorities on 30 December 2021 via the Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge (2).

Chairman of the Township Administration Body U Tin Oo Kyaw and officials provided necessary assistance and arranged vehicles to repatriate them to their respective places.
